Don’t get hung up on studying individual passage right now. Just read it like a book and re-familiarize yourself with the content.

Jot a Note
If you find that you’ve read through it quickly and have more time. Read through it again, focusing on sections that seems most interesting to you. Perhaps even right it down and share with the group the sections that jumped out at you.

Share It
You don’t have to write a detailed explanation of what it says and why you want to study it more. You can if you want, but you can also just jot it down and we can visit it later in group. Reply in this forum or send me an email and I’ll put your replies here for future reference.

2010-03-25T10:01:22-08:00 Battling Unbelief - Session 5 - Origins of Radical Love, Part 1 http://www.whdowntown.org/forums/viewthread/22/ http://www.whdowntown.org/forums/viewthread/22/#When:06:35:02Z
Radical love is such a great thing to strive for; Jesus exemplified radical love when he died on the cross and he continues exemplifying this radical love as he intercedes for us everyday! Our schedule includes opening review of last week, watching the DVD, discussion, and prayer. I think I’ll do the opening review from my notes so that it’s brief.

We should really start sitting in the living room around 7:30pm; but of course, this is dependent on people getting here. I had mentioned the idea of having a potluck style dinner prior to our starting time and Beka had expressed an interesting in giving it a try. This would give us all a chance to get here earlier and to spend a little time chatting freely prior to starting at 7:30. Another reason we start late is because people are just wanting to chat, so dinner together would help do that, or I could be totally wrong; at least we can give it a try and see if it works. We don’t have to try anything fancy, which means we don’t need to labor over preparing special meals. Simple stuff like casseroles, salads, hot dogs, pasta, bread and cheese, etc. We just want enough food so that our stomachs are not grumbling and our children are satisfied. And of course, save room for coffee.
2009-11-13T06:31:43-08:00 Battling Unbelief - Introduction http://www.whdowntown.org/forums/viewthread/5/ http://www.whdowntown.org/forums/viewthread/5/#When:16:35:50Z
We will be going through a series of DVD session titled “Battling Unbelief” by John Piper. Don’t let the title fool you, it’s not simply about battling unbelief. It’s about living a passionate faith filled life of love for the glory of God. Jenn and I have been renting the DVD’s and watching them over the past month and have been blown away by the foundational teachings in this series. John Piper does an incredible job of delivering the message. There are 10 – 30 minute messages in this series. Each week we will watch one session and then discuss and study the key Scripture passages.

Here’s a link to the entire session series.
http://www.desiringgod.org/ResourceLibrary/Seminars/1587_Future_Grace__Battling_Unbelief_Session_1/

# Session 1: Foundational Passions, Part 1
# Session 2: Foundational Passions, Part 2
# Session 3: Is It Biblical? This is just laying the groundwork for some really great stuff that comes in later sessions.

I hope you all can make it and look forward to seeing you all again!

Your brother in Christ,
Rob
2009-11-08T16:35:50-08:00
